Again, a brilliantly executed exploration by these people, particularly since instead of making them roll, I told them to tell me where they looked, and if they looked in the right place and it was obvious enough, I gave them the evidence. It made them think a lot harder and smarter than if they could rely on rolls. Also, poor Mikhail's sight failed him up there, largely because of light-headedness, tipsiness and exhaustion, so he couldn't be used as effectively as Drake, but that's kind of good, character-wise, because Drake should be the better investigator, so far.

I know, I know, you guys were always sophisticated.  I just like putting in something idiotic as the tag line.

So ... what has been found out so far ...

Jack Whateley is a psychopath when it comes to the supernatural.  He and Strauss didn't part on the best terms.  A Hunter called Robin, perhaps the same who left the symbol at the park and the symbol needing help, maybe be better in line with their views.

They know the Succubus Club has vampires in it, is connected to some man named Devilrow and that drugs are dealt within it.  They also have heard of a special drug known as Crimson that Mikhail assumed was blood.

They know that Koppel Breidenstein sometimes wears masks, sometimes visits the Succubus Club and has business investigating it, isn't a fan of the management, is a bad gambler, is apparently a German Jew and has some connection to Drake.  Drake is a man who pretended to be drunk and is involved, also, in investigating the Succubus Club and is probably a detective of some sort.

This was a very good session.  I'm quite proud of how these two picked up on many clues, got into the investigative mood, and basically, did everything right that they were supposed to do.  These guys did awesomely in every facet of their investigation - though the whole foam symbol on bathroom mirror was a little clumsy, largely because it raises questions as to, how did they know Whateley was a Hunter in the first place?  Likely they would have managed to reason it away beautifully and, as I'm sure Morry will agree, time was running out.  They had failed to impress Whateley as potential lodgers and were soon to be sent away.  So I absolutely understand his rush and, in that light, it was still a clever thing to do.

The Sess Session.  Forgiveness.  Arekhala's apparent flirts with Mikhail via Kumera.  Raziel swears off Arekhala (yeah, that lasted long) for his sake.  Peter apologises to Raziel.  Having a session.  Kumera makes Arekhala mad and childish.  Studying Spirits.  Wacky Alakhan.  Learning Awakening.  Learning about the humans.

What happened was yadda yadda yadda ... the monster lies defeated.  Elgor unconscious.  Tobias unconscious.  Sabtechah dead.  Peter floats, golden chains dribbling from eyes.  Touch him.  Within his head.  Illaria left him in his room.  Go for a journey within the rooms.  Strauss gets his arms skinned - Crippled with pain.  All together now...  Whoopsy.

After a conversation and a longer  break than originally intended (I was sulky and had to be coaxed into playing in the last session), the tentacle beast attacks.  The joy of Mikhail rushing around to close that last door right on her tentacles.  Actual props!  The Butler strains to hold the field.  Peter goes right-round, baby, right-round.

The prop in question were several stuffed stockings with googly eyes glued on.  Peter had given Mikhail his bullet proof vest and lies down on the stairs while the others ready themselves for the final battle.  Illaria goes walking down the open passageway a few times, tempting fate, but is lucky and isn't attacked.

The man whom Raziel had turned mad - Fumi Dusani's husband - starts walking down the passage way and telekinetically attacks them but is destroyed.  Izkariel roars and two tentacles rush forward through the forward corridor, just scraping through, and ends up impregnating Tobias with lots of little bug-things that don't erupt until the very end.  The edges of the tentacles lash about just within the doorway.  A few of the characters rush forward to meet with it.

The tentacle-beast is Izkariel - tainted with the Flaw of Cancer - and is also utterly mad.  At one point, the tentacles dance, causing everyone but Elgor to fly into a lust, barely managing to control themselves.

Billy/Peter slowly rises from his position behind everyone, head lolling and began to shuffle backwards around the circular stairs, moving on the fourth step, passing into their line of fire.  For the first three rounds, all he was was a nuisance.  On the second three rounds, sounds were dampened and warped.  Dust motes dance in the harsh lights.  Blood that drips from Peter's face and sweaty chest drops to the floor and runs in patterns.  They smelt the electrical tang of fried wiring.

On the next three rounds, the lights flicker and flash, on and off, in a nauseating rythm.  Thin lines appear on the steps beneath Billy's feet.  The walls seem to heave and pulse.  The bruises on Billy's body begin to move and trail across his body.

On the next three rounds, the lights seem to brighten, the place seeming awash in crackling shades of grey.  They felt somewhat lighter (movement, jump and climb speeds are half again).  The thin lines beneath his feet become raised.  Their hair lifts up with the crackle of static.

On the next three rounds, the room, still grey, seems over-exposed, hurting their eyes (Roll perception successfully or take +1 to all DCs).  The dust motes are bright sparks of light that dance around you.  It feels like wire wrapping around your neck and limbs.

On the next three rounds, the dust motes become sparks that fall like gentle rain drops.  When they land on the people, they scorch holes in their clothes and raise painful blisters on skin (cannot heal the Bruised health level).

On the next three rounds, the air is hot, and humid, clogging in your throat and filling your lungs.  You can hear the crackle of electricity, the crunch of boots on gravel and the sound of sobs, screams, whispers and laughter.

On the next three rounds, they feel very heavy, each foot taking a second to lift and drop (all movement is reduced to a third and all actions take a -2 penalty).  The wires seem to tighten around your limbs, pulling them slowly outwards but you can resist.

On the next three rounds, Peter begins to rise up as though by a rope around his neck, head lolling, arms hanging.  His eyes open, chains of light trailing down his cheeks and entering the floor.  Coils of blood run from his wrists, forming ropes that trail across the ground.

Freya ... meet Peter.  Tobias and she get into the big circular room.  Set up the lines of defences.  Waves and waves of bad guys.  Saving a woman and baby -- yay for Peter's eyes.  Mikhail gets upstairs, gets the power on and attempts to fix and shut the large blast doors.  Is part of the way round when the battle stops (temporarily) and throws a big spatty (Frost, not Mikhail) about having been made redundant by the break - yay for lack of faith in the DM and not being in the right position to easily deal a lot of damage.  Fight between Stadzha and Tobias.

Arekhala and Shedeur arrive.

Freya finds Ada Wong sobbing on the stairs, lined by candles, pleading for Freya to keep her safe from the "prince ... the Irish Clover, he's coming ... keep him away."  She then follows Ada Wong into another room and finds herself trapped in the Rose Room with no one but Peter for company.  Mistrusting Peter (who has a bandage wrapped around his eyes) since seeing him in his incarnation as Billy, she tells him not to offer his willpower boosting ability for her, when she starts feeling her confidance rise around him.  Eventually, she falls asleep - pulled firmly from the time line of the others.

Mikhail, Izmael and Elgor help set up the defences of flame throwers and machine guns to aim at each of the doors.  Mikhail finds that there is no power being sent to the various booths nor to the large Event Horizon-like device in the center of the room.  Tobias and Illaria arrive (Freya got Illariad when she woke up) and Tobias takes Mikhail and Carella up to the trapdoor in the ceiling where they find themselves attacked by a ghost.

Meeting Ada Wong.  Meeting an Alakhan.  Talking to Ada Wong in the Rose Room.  Big steps and Chain-beasts.  Reaching the holy center.  Billy flips out at the sight of the central sphere.  The Butler brings arms.
